The team of AgroFossilFree H2020 project is pleased to announce the organization of the 2nd AgroFossilFree Transnational Innovation Workshop (TIW) in Warsaw, Poland.
The workshop will take place on September 23rd, 2022, at 09.00 – 15.00 (CET)
Venue: The Institute of Agricultural and Food Economics – National Research Institute (IAFE-NRI) Świętokrzyska 20, 00-002 Warszawa
The main theme of the workshop is “The use of Fossil-Energy-Free Technologies and Strategies (FEFTS) in open-field agriculture”.
Participants will be invited to take part in a discussion among relevant stakeholders and express their opinion on key issues related to the efforts for the defossilisation of EU agriculture.
More specifically, the workshop themes of discussion fall into 3 categories:
1. Present current status of the energy consumption of the EU field production.
2. Present and discuss main and current European open-field agricultural solutions, and policies accompanied by possible anticipated developments for the next 10 years regarding reduction of energy consumption and fossil-free energy use for agricultural production.
3. Present and evaluate past and current research results of specific FEFTS of interest identified in each AFF country, always related to European agriculture situation, and identify needed research direction, collaboration schemes, cross-border and educational efforts.
The workshop will also include short pitches from invited speakers. It will also comprise short introductory questions that the audience will answer by using Mentimeter application on their smartphones in order to initiate the discussion of the specific questions. The organizers of each regional hub of AgroFossilFree will have also produced a poster presenting the results from the workshops conducted in their country regarding the adoption of FEFTS in open-field agriculture, policies used today and new research projects/collaborations that were proposed in each represented country (hub).
