The Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) is pleased to announce the agenda and synopsis for the first AgroFossilFree (AFF) transnational innovation workshop (TIW) in Athens.
The theme is FEFTS for greenhouses.
Date: The workshop will take place June 14th, 2022, from 13.00 – 17.00 (CET)
Venue: Agricultural University of Athens, 75 Iera Odos Str., 118 55 Athens, Greece
Based on inputs from the regional workshops and WP3 objectives, the TIW synopsis falls into three categories:
1. Current status of the energy consumption of the EU greenhouse production
2. Present and discuss leading and current European greenhouse industry solutions, and policies accompanied by possible anticipated developments for the next 10 years regarding the reduction of energy consumption and fossil free energy use for greenhouse production.
3. Present and evaluate past and current research results of specific FEFTS of interest identified in each AFF country, always related to the European greenhouse energy situation and identify needed research direction, collaboration schemes, cross-border and educational efforts
The workshop will include short pitches from invited speakers. The workshop will also comprise short introductory questions that the audience will answer by using Mentimeter application on their smartphones in order to initiate the discussion of the specific questions listed in the appendix 1.
Your additions of questions or remarks are most welcome. Please respond by May 18th, such as the final synopsis can be distributed to the attendance.
Please note that we would kindly ask the organizers of each regional hub to produce a poster presenting the results from workshops regarding greenhouse FEFTS, policies used today and proposed research projects in each represented country (hub). A template will be provided soon.
